EMS in a beauty salon: treatments, introducing the service and profitability

September 14, 2026

A salon client does not buy technology. She buys a result she can see in the mirror and a good reason to come back next week. That is why it is better to think of EMS in a beauty salon not as another device, but as a service the client will understand in one sentence and will want to buy as a series.

Updated: 20 October 2026

In this article we go through the whole service: how an EMS suit differs from other technologies that go by the same name, which treatments to offer, what clients come in with, how the service fits into a visit you already have in your calendar, how many suits you need, how to put together packages, and how to talk about the treatment without promising things no one can honestly deliver.

None of these technologies is „better” in isolation from the salon's working model. What should be compared are the contraindications, the requirements placed on the operator, the warranty and service, the running costs, and how the service will fit into the existing schedule. We described the construction of the suit without cables and without gel in the article wireless EMS suit.

A treatment is not a workout

EMS training requires work from the client: they do the exercises, and the impulse adds a stimulus to them. During a treatment it is different. The client lies comfortably and makes no effort, while the muscle does the work on its own. The only exception is the pelvic floor treatment, in which the client adds her own muscle work.

For a salon, this is a fundamental difference. A treatment does not require changing into sportswear, does not require a training room and does not require a trainer. The treatment bed already in your room is enough. Eight treatments are built into the Vibraé EMS app, and you do not have to assemble them from individual programmes: you choose the treatment, set the intensity of each zone at the start, and the app switches the phases and changes the frequency, pulse width and work rhythm by itself. What remains on your side is being with the client and adjusting the intensity when she asks.

Eight treatments and the clients who ask for them

The simplest way is to match the treatment to what the client says in the first conversation. The overview below comes from the training materials used by salons working with Vibraé.

Eight EMS treatments in the Vibraé app: Firming, Anti-cellulite, Fat-burning, Pain relief, Relax, Detox, Strengthening, Pelvic floor
Eight treatments built into the Vibraé EMS app.
The client saysTreatmentWhat to keep in mind
“Everything went soft after I lost weight”Firmingabdomen, buttocks and thighs; a series of 10–12 treatments with before and after photos
“I have cellulite, my legs feel heavy”Anti-cellulitemicrocirculation and lymph drainage; plenty of water on the day of the treatment
“I want to lose weight”Burningsupport during weight reduction; sold together with a conversation about food
“My back hurts from sitting”Pain reliefrelief and relaxation; radiating pain or numbness means seeing a doctor first
“I'm exhausted, I don't want to make an effort”Relaxthe gentlest treatment, good for a first experience of the impulse
“I get puffy, I feel heavy”Detoxas a single session, for example before a trip or after a wedding
“I want stronger muscles”Strengtheningthe highest intensity in the set, for active people, not for the start
“My core got weaker after pregnancy”Pelvic floorthe client works together with the impulse; after giving birth, only once the postpartum period is over

Thanks to this, a very varied group of clients uses a single service: a bride before her wedding, a mum after pregnancy, a woman who wants to improve firmness after losing weight, and one who will never like the gym but is happy to lie down for a treatment after a long day.

How the service fits into a visit you already have

The suit has no cables and the controller is clipped into the suit, so nothing connects the client to a device standing next to her. Because of this, an EMS treatment does not need a separate appointment or a separate room. You add it to a visit that is already in the calendar. In salons this works in several ways.

One visit, two services: a facial and an EMS treatment in the Slim shorts at the same time
An EMS treatment is added to a visit that is already in the calendar.
  • During a facial. You work on the face, for example during a Kobido massage or a skincare treatment, while the shorts work on the figure at the same time. One visit, two services.
  • For a second client. One client is having a manicure or pedicure, while another lies on an EMS treatment at the same time. Your hands work on one person, and the salon earns from two.
  • Between visits. A client comes for laser hair removal every few weeks. A series of EMS treatments gives her a reason to visit the salon in between as well.
  • In a package. With endermology or body massage, EMS adds muscle work to what you do mechanically, and two services become one fuller programme.
  • Between aesthetic medicine treatments. A complementary programme keeps you in touch with the patient. The intervals between treatments are decided by the person performing the medical procedure.

Not every service can be combined with an EMS session, and during the first visits the person running the treatment stays with the client anyway, to set the intensity and answer questions. On later visits, once the settings are saved, working in parallel becomes routine.

Implementation will be difficult where nobody on the team can attend to the client during the session, or where there is no plan for selling packages. Single sessions with no continuation rarely stand up economically.

Shorts or a full-body suit

For combining with other treatments, the best choice is the Vibraé Slim shorts. They work on the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, and an additional electrode covers the inner thighs. The client puts them on in a minute and does not have to undress to her underwear, so they work well during a facial or a manicure.

The Vibraé Body suit covers the back, arms, chest, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. It is chosen when EMS is to be a separate item on the price list: a firming treatment, a back programme or a body-shaping series. It is also a good choice for salons that serve men. The same controller works with the Slim shorts and the Body suit.

The Vibraé suit does not need to be soaked or coated with gel. The electrodes are dry, and the treatment begins right after putting it on. Only with very dry skin can you use a little clear gel, for example the kind used for ultrasound.

How many suits a salon needs

OptionContentsFor which salon
Basic Body1 controller and 10 full-body suitsworking with the whole body
Basic Beauty1 controller and 10 Slim shortsabout 15–25 sessions a week — 10 clients between washes
Smart Beauty1 controller and 20 Slim shortsfrom about 30 sessions a week — continuous rotation with no waiting for the laundry

The number of suits is not only a question of sizes but also of the washing cycle. No free set in the middle of the day means the client hears „not today” — and that costs more than a few extra pieces in reserve.

Packages and pricing

  • Trial session — short and calm, with an explanation of what the whole series looks like.
  • A series of visits — for example 10 sessions in a package, sold at the start of the cooperation.
  • Combined package — a facial treatment plus an EMS session within one visit.
  • Monthly membership — a fixed number of visits a week, paid in advance.

As a reference point we use indicative market prices for an EMS treatment: 130–180 zł in smaller towns and 180–250 zł in Warsaw or Kraków. The price at a particular salon depends on its location, client profile and what the service is combined with.

How to talk to the client about the treatment

It is best to talk about what the client really gets: muscle work without effort, comfort, regularity and the salon's care. You do not promise specific centimetres, kilograms or therapeutic effects. Promises like that attract clients with expectations that cannot be met, and they end in disappointment and complaints. The suit can carry the salon's logo and the app its branding, which builds recognition of your brand rather than the supplier's.

A few rules that work well in salons:

  • A series from the first visit. A single treatment will not show what regular muscle work is. For firming and anti-cellulite treatments, a series of 10–12 visits twice a week with scheduled dates is recommended.
  • Photos and measurements at the start. Without them it is hard to show the difference after the series, and after a few weeks the client does not remember where she started.
  • Honesty about what the treatment will not do. A firming treatment is not weight loss or a lift, and cellulite does not disappear permanently from impulses. Body measurements change mainly when eating habits change.
  • A gentle first experience. A client who is wary of the impulse is offered Relax to begin with. She leaves relaxed and comes back for a stronger programme.

How to calculate the profitability of a station

The revenue from one station is simple to calculate: the treatment price times the number of treatments per day, times working days per week, times 4.33 weeks per month. From this you subtract the costs: staff time, laundry, marketing, taxes and equipment financing. Most depends on the number of series actually sold, not on single visits, which is why you put cautious figures from your own schedule into the calculation.

W revenue calculator choose the “Beauty treatments” mode and enter your own prices and occupancy. What revenue is made up of and what really increases it is described in the article how much an EMS studio earns. We can also prepare a calculation based on your figures together with you after the free tests.

Combining with other treatments and safety

Before the first treatment, the client fills in a health questionnaire. The treatment is not performed, among others, with a pacemaker or other electronic implant, during pregnancy, with epilepsy, thrombosis, heart and circulatory diseases, active cancer, fever and acute inflammation. We have put together the full list in the article contraindications to EMS training.

When combining with other services, common sense applies. An anti-cellulite treatment is not performed on the same day as radiofrequency, HIFU or a sauna on the same area. In areas with recent invasive treatments, you wait a few weeks, and with diastasis recti a firming treatment is performed only after consulting a physiotherapist.

  • Health data and GDPR. The questionnaire is a special category of personal data: it requires a legal basis (usually explicit consent), an information clause and restricted access to the questionnaires. A lawyer should confirm the details.
  • A gentle start. The first treatment at low intensity, raised gradually. The client drinks enough water before and after the visit and does not come after drinking alcohol.
  • Warning signs. Very severe, increasing muscle pain or dark urine after a treatment require urgent contact with a doctor. This information is given at the first visit.

Who in the salon will run the treatments

Anyone on the team can run the treatment after training. They choose the treatment from a list, set the intensity of each area with one movement of a finger, and the app guides the treatment to the end and saves a report. One tablet can run several suits at the same time.

The session is run by a trained member of the team — a beauty therapist or a beautician. The scope of their tasks:

  1. Questionnaire and contraindications before the first visit.
  2. Choosing the size, so that the electrodes lie evenly against the skin.
  3. Choosing the programme and gradually raising the intensity, separately for each muscle group, up to the level of a clear but comfortable contraction.
  4. Watching the client and adjusting the settings during the session.

Throughout the session someone from the team stays nearby, within earshot, and the client knows that at any moment she can ask for the intensity to be lowered or the session ended — the session is stopped in the app. Working in two rooms is possible, but during the first visits the person in charge stays with the client.

Implementation training is included in the price of the set and takes place online, on the salon's account on the Vibraé platform: operating the equipment, working patterns with clients, building packages, safety and contraindications, combining EMS with facial treatments, and sales and client return rates. It requires neither closing the salon nor waiting for someone to arrive — the materials and certificates are available on the account straight away, and a new team member gets access from day one, at no extra cost. Details on the page Vibraé Academy.

Everyone who completes the training receives a personal Vibraé Academy certificate that can be hung in the treatment room. Tests before purchase are free, and we run them on site, in your salon.

Vibraé Core Beauty is the tool for running the salon: online bookings, deposits, visit reminders, passes and an app for clients with your salon's logo. The client can see how many visits are left in her series and books the next one herself. More on the page Vibraé Core Beauty.

Six mistakes when introducing the service

  1. Selling single sessions. One visit will not show what regular muscle work is. A series or a pass is proposed from the first visit.
  2. Too strong a start. High intensity in the first session does not create an impression of effectiveness — it discourages and loads the muscles needlessly.
  3. No single person in charge. When everyone runs sessions their own way, clients get different settings and different information.
  4. Not enough suits in popular sizes. Washing and the range of sizes are logistics that quietly eat into the schedule.
  5. Promises instead of a description of the service. Specific centimetres in an advertisement attract clients with expectations that nobody will honestly meet.
  6. A service hidden in the price list. What the client does not hear about at the chair will not sell itself.

How to evaluate the service after three months

After a quarter three indicators matter: the number of sessions actually delivered per week, the percentage of clients who buy a package after a trial session, and the percentage of those who buy a further package. If there are few sessions but packages are renewed, the problem is reaching clients, not the service. If packages are not renewed, you go back to the standard of running sessions and to what was promised at the start.

Honestly about the limitations

  • The treatment does not replace training or diet. It works on the muscles and circulation, but without a change in habits the result will be more modest than the client would like.
  • Working in parallel has its limits. An EMS treatment is not combined with a service on the same body area, and a new client needs attention during the first visits.
  • A service hidden in the price list will not sell itself. The client has to hear about it in the chair, ideally from someone who has tried it herself.
  • The results depend on regularity. Single visits without a series rarely give a result the client will notice.
  • We do not promise results in centimetres. Research data on whole-body EMS training concern strength and muscle mass, not local fat reduction.
  • Leasing terms are set by the bank. The bank sets the down payment, contract length and buyout individually for your business.

How to check it in your own salon

Nine beauty salons and more than 500 of their clients currently use Vibraé treatments. The surest way to find out is to try it yourself: we bring a set to your salon, show you the treatments and check how the service will fit into your schedule. The tests cost nothing and commit you to nothing. Then we choose the configuration, train your team and help you put together your offer. Smaller orders are usually fulfilled straight away, larger configurations within up to three weeks. The warranty covers 12 months on the controller and 12 months on the suits, and service works door-to-door, with replacement equipment for the duration of the repair.

The offer for salons is on the page Vibraé for beauty salons. If you want to work out what one station could bring in, in the revenue calculator choose the “Beauty treatments” mode and enter your own prices. All forms of cooperation are described on the page Vibraé for partners, and you can arrange tests using the demo form. If you are planning a separate training studio, this text will help how to open an EMS studio step by step.

What EMS treatments can you offer in a beauty salon?

The Vibraé EMS app has eight ready-made treatments: Firming, Anti-cellulite, Fat-burning, Pain relief, Relax, Detox, Strengthening and Pelvic floor. The app switches phases and parameters by itself, and the person running the treatment sets the intensity at the start and adjusts it at the client's request.

Can an EMS treatment be combined with a facial?

Yes. The suit has no cables, so the Slim shorts work on the figure during a facial, for example a Kobido massage. An EMS treatment is not combined with a service on the same body area, and during the first visits the person running the treatment stays with the client.

How many EMS treatments does a client need?

For firming and anti-cellulite treatments, a series of 10–12 visits twice a week is recommended, with photos and measurements at the start and after the series. Relax and Detox can be done as single sessions.

Does the EMS suit need to be moistened before a treatment?

No. The Vibraé suit has dry electrodes and needs no water or gel. Only with very dry skin can you use a little clear gel, for example the kind used for ultrasound.

Who in the salon can run EMS treatments?

Anyone on the team after training. For salons, the training takes place online and is included in the price of the set, and every trained person receives a personal Vibraé Academy certificate.

What should you not promise a client with EMS treatments?

Specific centimetres, kilograms or therapeutic effects. The treatment works on the muscles, circulation and firmness, but body measurements change mainly when eating habits change, and cellulite does not disappear permanently from impulses.

When is an EMS treatment not performed?

Among others, with a pacemaker or other electronic implant, during pregnancy, with epilepsy, thrombosis, heart and circulatory diseases, active cancer, fever and acute inflammation. Before the first treatment, the client fills in a health questionnaire.

How does an EMS suit differ from a HIFEM magnetic device?

An EMS suit transmits an electrical impulse through electrodes sewn into the fabric and works on several muscle groups at once, while the client can lie down, sit or move. A magnetic device generates an electromagnetic field and stimulates the muscles only under the applicator, in a fixed position and at a station by the device.

How much does an EMS treatment in a beauty salon cost?

Indicative market prices are PLN 130–180 in smaller towns and PLN 180–250 in Warsaw or Kraków. A particular salon's price depends on location, the profile of its clients and what the service is combined with.

How many pairs of shorts does a salon need?

A set with 10 pairs of Slim shorts handles about 15–25 sessions a week, and a set with 20 pairs — from about 30 sessions a week, with no waiting for the laundry. The number of suits is a question not only of sizes but also of the washing rhythm.
